Before my life as a designer, I spent several years working in tech and fashion for various startups across generalist, marketing, and client-facing roles.
Even before formally switching to UX, I always found myself most engrossed with any work that offered a creative outlet, be it website redesign projects or creating visual content.
Throughout my career, I’ve particularly enjoyed building out teams, engaging in strategic product development and understanding users through research and interviews.
With a degree in anthropology and a multicultural background — half Japanese, half Italian — my approach to design reflects a deep curiosity about understanding people and the ways in which they interact with their worlds. I see these interactions as highly dependent on culture, context, and the subjective meaning that people place on the objects and systems around them.
I’ve always enjoyed creative pursuits that allow me to break things apart and put them back together again, especially collage and jewellery-making. I see UX/UI in a similar way - never completely reinventing the wheel but always learning from others and making my own of what has come before.
You’ll probably find me in the climbing gym, travelling the world to add more dives to my logbook, or back home snuggling my tabby cat, Kiwa.
